Trout fishing Rotorua

Two kilometres of Waiteti stream famous for its brown and rainbow trout meander through the property. It is a gravel bottomed spring fed stream with deep pools and overhanging grasses and is accessed by invited guests only.

The images below are of guests with rainbow and brown trout caught on the property, the Waiteti stream meandering through the farm and 20 trout seen from the farm bridge.

Fly-fishing on this section of the Waiteti stream is seasonal. The stream is open from 1 December to 30 June. There is a maximum bag of 8 and 2 brown trout. Catch and release is encouraged. A licence is required and can be purchased at the local Ngongotaha village. An experienced fishing guide can be arranged to help with accessing other rivers and lakes in the region.  There is a boat ramp on Lake Rotorua three kilometres away and parking is available on site.
